Unlike the last two tributes, “Honey Bun” takes on a more aggressive tone, like a representation of the rage that you feel during the grieving process. “I don’t wanna hear no sorry for my loss,” Quavo raps regarding the passing of TakeOff.
The video gives off a “heist” vibe as you see bulletproof cars and Quavo rapping in a vault while sorting through important documents, with titles like “QC Contracts.”
He continues, “they wanna see my emotions, I ain't smilin' at all,” explaining that he is not here for the games.
His February release, “Greatness” had a more celebratory and upbeat tune as he reminisced on how far he and Takeoff had come.
