The "Florida" in Florida Georgia Line is Brian Kelley, who grew up in Ormond Beach, Florida. A few years ago, he and his wife Brittney moved to the gulf coast of his home state, and more recently, he's been able to fulfill his dream of owning a boat.
"Me and Brittney, we bought a big boat in January," he reports in a statement from his label. "And that was my dream – 'Babe, one of these days I'm gonna make your name one of them boat names.'
"That's what I kept telling her," he continues. "I love boats, I love boat names. I think boat names tell a lot about the person in the boat, and they tell so many stories. They're so unique and they're just so intriguing. And so, end of last year came, and I was like, 'Babe, I think I found us a boat that checks off everything on our list.'
"I was like, 'That's the Brittney Marie right there.'"
