There’s a lot to celebrate for Moore as he continues to inch towards the top of the charts with “You, Me and Whiskey,” a duet with with Country newcomer, Priscilla Block.
The song is a track from his newest album, Stray Dog, which released in May and Moore shared he was “excited for people to hear.”
“I think it’s really well-written and there’s some really creative ideas,” Justin told Rob + Holly in a conversation ahead of the album’s release.
The singer-songwriter has been keeping busy on tour in support of the new album and is sure to be visiting a city near you with a summer full of dates spilling into the fall. While Moore says it’s especially exciting to bring new songs on the road, he still enjoys playing some old classics like, “Back That Thing Up,” despite the tune releasing “a little before it’s time” in 2009.
“Right after we put that out “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” was huge and there were a couple others kinda like that — so maybe it was a little before it’s time,” Moore shared of the song. “Randy Houser wrote that, so I blame him,” Justin laughed.
While the song may not have performed as well as he and his team would’ve liked, Justin expressed just how grateful he is to have had success at Country radio with other songs — 10 of those reaching #1.
“You guys at Country radio have always been there for me, and that’s why I’m still here 16 years later,” Justin shared.
