Guy Fieri has stipulations for his children if they’re going to get a piece of his food empire when he’s gone.

Speaking with Fox News, Fieri said his children need to hit the books if they want a slice of his fortune.

“Shaq said it best,” the “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” host said. “Shaq said, ‘If you want this cheese, you got to get two degrees.’ Well, my two degrees mean, you know, postgraduate.”

Fieri is father to sons Ryder and Hunter, as well as his nephew Jules whom he has raised since his sister’s death in 2011.

Fieri went on to say he wants to give his kids the same work ethic that his father instilled in him.

“I’ve told them the same thing my dad told me. My dad says, ‘When I die, you can expect that I’m going to die broke, and you’re going to be paying for the funeral,’” Fieri said. “And I told my boys, ‘None of this that we’ve been… that I’ve been building are you going to get unless you come take it from me.’”

Fieri joked that his son Ryder who is a senior in high school said it was “unfair” as he hasn’t even gone to college yet and he’s already getting pushed to get an MBA.

The iconic television host has been involved in more than two dozen shows on the Food Network and has a restaurant portfolio that includes 17 brands.
