Alan Stock is one of the all time most well known talk show hosts in Las Vegas.
Talkers Magazine, the bible of the talk radio industry, has named Alan Stock as one of the 100 most influential talk radio hosts in America for sixteen straight years. Radio and Records, the one-time bible of the entire radio industry, named Alan one of six top local talk radio personalities in the nation. Alan has been the recipient of three Electronic Media Awards. In 2003, Alan was inducted into the Nevada Broadcasters Association’s Hall of Fame.
While Alan has worked in the television and radio industry for almost 30 years, his career didn’t begin with the media.
Alan worked in the field of psychotherapy for 10 years. His specialties included working with poly-abuse drug addicts. He relied on his creative training and employed the techniques of role-playing and psychodrama.
Alan’s first radio job was with a small 1,000-watt station in Petaluma, California. From there, he gained a large following and won numerous awards and recognition at KSRO in Santa Rosa, California. Alan’s talk career has included San Diego’s heritage station KOGO (midday), Sacramento’s KSTE (morning drive) and San Francisco’s heritage station KSFO.
In June of 1999, Alan was hired as the afternoon drive time host at KXNT in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the first eighteen months, afternoon ratings quadrupled. After a brief stint across the street, Alan now commands afternoons as the KXNT afternoon drive time host.
Alan is a proud member of VFW Post 983, and for the past 17 years has been the Master of Ceremonies for the annual Veterans’ Day Parade in Las Vegas, the second largest Veterans’ Day parade in the nation.
Alan graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Sonoma State University and a Masters Degree in psychology from California State University at Dominguez Hills. Alan and his wife Rhoda were childhood sweethearts and have been married for 47 years. They have twin daughters, two great sons-in-law and two beautiful granddaughters…and a Shiranian (Shih Tzu/Pomeranian) pooch named Daisy.
