Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – A suspect has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a woman and child Monday night in a Southern Highlands neighborhood on Monday night.
According to Las Vegas Metro Police, Danaija Robinson and the child were sitting in a car near Starr Avenue and Dean Martin Drive when a man attempted to steal the car they were in. When Robinson resisted, she and the child, whom Robinson was taking care of for a friend, were shot. They both died at a nearby hospital.
Police say the suspect then ended up in Phoenix, where they successfully stole a car and headed north to Utah.
At some point on Tuesday, Utah Highway Patrol found the car, gave chase and arrested the suspect, whose name has not yet been released.
