Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) –Hoover Dam has been temporarily closed to all public access due to unexpected emergency equipment and roadway repairs.

The closure was first announced on Monday, and includes a complete shutdown of both visitor and public roadway access.

What exactly needs to be done wasn’t specified.

Officials from the Bureau of Reclamation confirmed that the dam and power plant are not at risk, but the exact reopening date remains unknown.
