Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – The Eastside Cannery is no more. The property at Boulder Highway and Harmon came down in a controlled implosion early Thursday.

The implosion went as expected, happening in right at 2am, with no complications. As far as implosions go, this one was low key, with no grandstands for viewing or any big parties being thrown (except for the Longhorn Casino across the street).

The Eastside Cannery closed with all other casinos at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, but never opened back up. Boyd Gaming said simply that there wasn’t enough demand to warrant Eastside Cannery’s re-opening.

The company is said to be in discussions to sell the land for future residential development.
