Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – For the second time in a week, a Metro Police officer has been shot.
Just after 12:30am, Metro responded to a domestic dispute at a home near Buffalo and Tropicana. When officers got to the scene, Metro says a person inside of the home fired shots through a door that struck an officer. They then set the house on fire.
The wounded officer was taken to U.M.C. Trauma, where they’re listed in stable condition. It’s not believed that the wounds are life threatening. Their identity has not yet been released.
Upon gaining entry to the home, officers discovered a man and a young girl dead from gunshot wounds. Their identities have yet to be released
The shooting marks the second in the past week involving Metro. Last Tuesday, Officer Austin Abdelnabi was shot and killed after being ambushed by an armed suspect near Tropicana and Mountain Vista. Abdelnabi’s funeral is scheduled for Friday.
