Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – A portion of east Lake Mead Boulevard was closed for hours on Wednesday afternoon due to a shooting that involved Las Vegas Metro Police.
Just before 12:30pm, Metro received multiple reports of a man with a gun firing into traffic near the intersection of North Sloan Lane and East Lake Mead Boulevard.
When officers arrived, they located the man and ordered him to drop his weapon
The suspect refused officers’ request, with metro saying he then pointed the weapon toward officers. Those officers then returned fire, striking the suspect. The man died at the scene
The shooting is the 6th involving Metro Police in 2026. No one else was hurt. The identity of the suspect was not released.
