Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – One person is dead after a shooting at a northwest valley shopping center on Wednesday afternoon.

The shooting happened around 4:30pm inside the Five Below store at the Best in The West shopping center at Rainbow and Lake Mead.

According to Las Vegas Metro Police, a man walked into the store and asked to speak with an employee. Once the suspect came into contact with that employee, a fight broke out. Then the suspect, only described as an Hispanic man in his 20s, pulled out a gun and shot the victim. The victim was described as a black man in his 30s. He died at the scene.

The shooter then fled the scene and is still being sought.

Police emphasized that the shooting was an isolated incident, and they don’t believe that there is any continuing threat to the public.
