Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – A brief paratransit strike has officially ended after the contractor, Transdev, and Teamsters Local 631 reached a tentative three-year agreement on Wednesday night.
The strike, which began early Wednesday morning, briefly disrupted door-to-door transportation services for seniors and riders with disabilities across Southern Nevada. Operations are now beginning to return to normal, though full service restoration is expected to take over a week, and riders may still experience temporary.
The walkout involved a wide range of personnel including drivers, dispatchers, mechanics, and customer service staff.
Teamsters Local 631 pushed back against Transdev's initial offers, citing high cost-of-living pressures in Las Vegas and demanding fairer wages, better pension allocations, and improved working conditions.
Before the final agreement, Transdev's packages included proposed driver wage increases from 9.5% up to 36.5% across a three-year span, performance bonuses, and a $1,000 ratification bonus.
