Caitlyn Jenner is not planning to run for governor of California, despite rumors to the contrary.

The former “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star’s team addressed rumors that she was eyeing Governor Gavin Newsom’s job.

"Caitlyn is not running for governor, has never considered running for governor and is very happy doing the work that she is doing to promote LGBT rights and spending time with her 18 grandchildren and 10 children," Jenner's manager Sophia Hutchins told People.

Newsom, a Democrat, has been highly criticized for his response to the coronavirus pandemic, and an effort to recall the governor is very close to obtaining the signatures it needs to put the issue to voters.

Politico reported there had been mounting talk in GOP circles that long-time Republican Jenner would be a strong candidate to replace Newsom because of her celebrity.

Olympic gold medalist and transgender activist Jenner has been vocal about her political beliefs in recent years, facing backlash after it was revealed she voted for Donald Trump in 2016.

However, in the middle of the former president's term, she admitted that his views on LGBTQ issues disappointed her.
