George Floyd's autopsy photos were shown to the jury Friday, as they heard more testimony as to Floyd's cause of death.

Dr. Lindsey Thomas, a pathologist based in Minneapolis, testified on behalf of the state. She told the jury that in her professional opinion, Floyd did not die of an overdose of fentanyl.

She was pressed on the matter by prosecutor Jerry Blackwell.

"Do you have an opinion, to a reasonable degree of medical certainty, if Mr. Floyd would have died that night had he not been subject to the subdual and restraint of the police?"

"There is no evidence to suggest he would have died that night," Thomas ansered. "Except for the interactions with law enforcement."

Pool reporters in the courtroom also viewed the autopsy photos. They reported that the photos showed scrapes and abrasions on Floy's face and shoulders, as well as his wrists, apparently from the handcuffs.

Reports from inside the courtroom also say for the first time since the start of the trial, the seat reserved for a family member of Derek Chauvin was occupied by a woman who appeared to be Asian. She also looked at the autopsy photos, as did the man who was occupying the seat reserved for George Floyd's family.
