A passenger on an Alaska Airlines flight from Seattle to Denver was accused of urinating in the cabin and not wearing a face mask.

The Colorado man could potentially face a federal charge, serving a maximum term of 20 years in prison and possibly a $250,000 fine, USA Today reports.

According to an affidavit filed in U.S. District Court in Denver, the FBI arrested 24-year-old Landon Grier after the flight landed on March 9.

FBI Special Agent Martin Daniell III interviewed Grier and crew members after the flight. The affidavit says that the passenger appeared to be trying to sleep but allegedly threw his hands at a flight attendant when she asked him to put his face mask on.

Daniell wrote that attendants had to tend to his seat after Grieg was found urinating in his seat area.

The affidavit states that Grier said that he had several beers and “a couple of shots” before boarding the aircraft. He eventually fell asleep on the plane and "awoke to being yelled at by the flight attendants who told him he was peeing."
"He stated he had no recollection of hitting the flight attendant and didn't know if he was peeing," Daniell said.

Last week, Grier made his first court appearance where a federal public defender represented him. Grier was eventually released on $10,000 bond pending his next appearance that is scheduled for March 26.

A call to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Denver was made, but the office has yet to release a statement.

In a statement, Alaska Airlines said: "We will not tolerate any disturbance onboard our aircraft or at any of the airports we serve.
