Zeoli: the term 'Ultra MAGA' is a new catchphrase to try to hurt Republicans

With the 2022 election nearing, Democrats are looking for fuel to get voters on their side, and with former President Donald Trump remaining an easy target, they seemed to have settled on the phrase "Ultra MAGA."

The Ultra MAGA term denotes a far-right Republican or someone who supports the Make America Great Again movement to the extreme.

The term started being used earlier this month when President Joe Biden used it, calling the group the most extreme political organization in U.S. history, and last week when he called Trump the "MAGA King."

Rich Zeoli, host of the Rich Zeoli Show on 1210 WPHT News Radio, shared that this is just the latest tactic to try and sway voters, but it isn't working.

Zeoli says Democrats have been in damage control following the "Let's go, Brandon" phrase attacking Biden that went viral and caught fire overnight. Now, they are looking to do the same with the Ultra MAGA phrase.

"Let's go, Brandon has become a thing, and it's everywhere," Zeoli says, adding that Democrats were thinking, "we need a catchphrase to try and hurt Republicans."

Zeoli says that the Democrats had their best political operatives work to develop the phrase, even going as far as to use focus groups on the Ultra MAGA phrase.

But the phrase is backfiring on Democrats as Trump and his allies like the phrase and are using it to promote themselves, putting it on hats, shirts, and other paraphernalia.

Even the "MAGA King" jab from Biden to Trump has backfired as Trump released a photoshopped "Lord of the Rings" poster depicting him as the MAGA King.

Zeoli says that he thinks people who are now describing themselves as Ultra MAGA are not admitting to any of the bad accused with the title but instead mocking the Democrats for their poor effort to take shots at them.

"It's a really stupid insult. You know what I mean? It's a dumb insult," Zeoli said.
