Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - Fall semester for the Clark County School District begins Monday, and Governor Steve Sisolak is telling students and staff to mask up.
Due to a recent surge in coronavirus cases, most of them being the more contagious Delta variant, the Governor on Wednesday issued an emergency directive stating that school students and staff must wear face covering while inside school building s and buses, regardless of their vaccination status.
The mandate falls in line with recent recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control, and is targeted more toward the more populated Clark and Washoe County School Districts. Rural counties with less risk of virus transmission were given a little more leeway toward making policy decisions.
