PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A second suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder and kidnapping of the grandson of Camden's Council president Curtis Jenkins.

Officials confirmed on Monday that Jalen Carr of Sicklerville was taken into custody on Friday.

Carr has been charged with robbing 20-year-old Curtis Jenkins III at gunpoint. According to court documents, Carr demanded Jenkins' wallet and cell phone.

Last week, 32-year-old Brandon Beverly of Westville was charged with the kidnapping and murder of Jenkins.

Court documents say Carr conspired with Beverly in the robbery.

Police say the younger Jenkins' body was found in an alley near his Camden home.
