PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Democrat and Republican leaders from the Senate have approved a law to make it illegal for a retailer to sell any tobacco product — including cigarettes, cigars and e-cigarettes — to anyone under 21. 

The Food and Drug Administration is now tasked with making certain this happens. 

Recently, there has been a spike in the use of e-cigarettes and vaping, and the hope is that this will help cut down the use of these harmful products by teens. 

As of this past December, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and New York have restrictions in place.
