PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — There are dozens of studies looking at COVID-19 — everything from vaccines to treatments to ways to prevent spread — and it is easy to be overwhelmed by the sheer number.

But a recent study performed at Massachusetts General Hospital is one to pay attention to.

The study looked at 192 children and challenged the theory that children don't seem to spread the virus as easily as adults.

The study found that children play a large role in spreading the virus.

This is very important as children head toward the classroom in various parts of the country.

According to the study, which included 49 children who tested positive, the first two days of the virus are the days when they are most contagious.

There is an added concern: children often carry other viruses with similar symptoms but are not COVID-19, adding to the confusion.
