PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Christmas morning and Christmas day are extremely exciting times for children as the thought of presents under the tree and the excitement of opening gifts can be exhilarating.
For parents, Christmas day is a time for family, sleep deprivation and food and drink. It all sounds wonderful and it certainly can be.

However, there are potential health issues for the entire family. The biggest issues can be the result of confusion and distraction.

For young children, the bright colors of wrapping paper and the presence of small objects like batteries and toy parts can be potential choking hazards, or child protective devices may be removed from outlets, for example. Keep your eyes open and be especially alert during the holidays.

Make it a great day, but keep a close eye on the kids.
