PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — This is a very strange Memorial Day.

With the impact of COVID-19, all of us have our own battles: it could be a loved one who has fallen victim, a lost job, or a lost spring with friends at school.

As we open up our cities slowly, we also fear the changes in numbers of cases and deaths.

My learning curve has been accelerated by virtue of my profession, and I have one bit of advice that has taken me awhile to figure out: Think about COVID-19 all the time when you are in public, wear a mask, wash your hands, respect social distancing.

But this Memorial Day, make a pledge to yourself that you will allow yourself to forget about COVID-19 at other times. Treasure family, friends and stress-free activities for your emotional and psychological health.
