Traditionally, males were more likely than females to succeed at committing suicide. But now, there is research from the Children's Hospital in Columbus, which has found that female suicide rates are climbing more quickly compared to those seen in males.
Scientists are not certain why this is the case, but they believe that they need to find out why and find out quickly.
Some have suggested that the growth in social media as well as more social pressure on these sites is contributing to the trend. Needless to say, this is a very serious concern.
