PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — If you are a sports fan, you probably are listening to the daily updates about attempts for various sports to get going.

There is no coronavirus-free environment because even the best testing is not 100% accurate.

Taking temperatures is a great tool if a person is positive for COVID-19, and fever happens to be a symptom at the time.

Although young people (including athletes) are less likely to have serious complications from COVID-19 if exposed, there is no way to predict if they will have problems.

And if fans in the stands are not all wearing masks, when they cheer or yell, the virus will be propelled into the air. Neighboring fans will be sprayed and the virus will also be heading mostly in one direction: at the players in the center of the stadium.

All of this must be considered whatever the sport.
