PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — This is not an unfamiliar scenario: A caregiver comes to the office to have their loved one examined, and doctors surprised by declining health of the caregiver. 

This is not unusual. 

Caregivers often think of themselves last and can rapidly deteriorate by not eating properly or getting the proper amount of exercise. It's important to realize that no one can provide 24-hour care alone. 

Support is needed, and you need to take time for yourself. If you aren't in good health, you can't efficiently help your loved one.
