PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Many people are frightened by the fact that diseases that were nearly eradicated, like measles and mumps, are making a comeback.

There was a time when many of these diseases were as frightening as the coronavirus and attacked many people.

Right now, scientists are working hard to develop a vaccine for coronavirus, and the world is waiting, which makes the fact that many turn away from the vaccines that we do have quite difficult to understand.

According to a report in Pediatrics, a sizable portion of U.S. children ages 19 months to 35 months aren't adhering to recommended vaccination timelines, especially when counting vaccines recommended for before 19 months.

The concern is that we may be falling victim to diseases that were once in the rear view mirror.
