Here are some tips on how to talk with your doctor about your cancer:
Make a list of questions before your visit and list your most important ones first. Bring a pen and paper to take notes, or ask your spouse or another family member to come and take notes for you.
You can also ask if you can record the visit so you can listen to the information again at a later time.
Don't be afraid to ask questions if you don't understand something, and repeat your own questions if necessary as sometimes your doctor may not understand your question or concern and may not fully answer your question.
Finally, ask if your doctor or another staff member is available by phone to answer questions once you get home.
