10-year-old shot at NJ high school football game dies

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The 10-year-old boy who was shot during a high school football playoff game in South Jersey Friday night has died.

One of the suspects, 31-year-old Alvin Wyatt, is now charged with murder in the shooting. He's also facing two counts of attempted murder and weapons charges.

With 17 minutes left in the game between Camden and Pleasantville high schools, shots rang out in the stands, and 10-year-old Micah Tennant was shot. A GoFundMe page made for the child has since raised more than $21,000.

Two others were injured in the shooting: A 27-year-old man was critically injured and a 15-year-old boy suffered a graze wound.

Four other men connected to the shooting — Michael Mack, 27; Tyrell Dorn, 28; Shahid Dixon, 27; and Vance Golden, 26 — are in custody and face weapons charges.

The teams finished the game Wednesday afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field. The match is closed to the public.
