It all began Thursday morning when a fuel truck, carrying 3,000 gallons of commercial fuel, ended up on its side, crushing part of the guardrail, catching fire and ultimately leaving two people critically injured.

After battling the flames, repairs to the ramp would extend all the way until about 3 p.m. Friday.

PennDOT spokesman Brad Rudolph explained that crews had been working to resurface the few hundred feet of fire-damaged area.

"Crews have been out there all night cutting out damaged sections of the pavement, and they're basically performing a resurfacing operation, where they're milling the surface and then they're replacing it with asphalt," Rudolph said.

Unbelievably, at around 4:30 p.m. Friday, a second vehicle would overturn and would leave the same ramp to Woodhaven Road blocked, this time only partially.
