After months of wiretapping, Philadelphia police and area agencies raided homes, warehouses and cars, arresting 14 people and seizing nearly 200,000 doses of drugs and $200,000 in cash.
"They were leaders of this organization and they were poisoning some of the row homes here along Clementine Street," said Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro.
"They got co-opted by these drug dealers, the got co-opted by these people carrying guns illegally in our community and they were pushed to sell drugs," Shapiro added.
He says police were also able to thwart three different shootings and added that streets remain quiet after prior takedowns of neighborhood drug rings.
