Kathryn Orr parked her car at 8th and Wolf streets in South Philadelphia on Christmas. The next day, she discovered someone broke into her vehicle and took a box with her father Bruce's ashes. He died about two years ago.
"Whoever took this, when they realized what it was or what it wasn’t what they thought it was, maybe just threw it on the ground and now it’s gone," Orr speculated.
Orr told CBS 3 Eyewitness News that she and her siblings recently sprinkled some of their father's ashes in Wildwood, one of his favorite places.
"I kept them in the car," she said. "I couldn’t bring myself to move them, my sister couldn’t bring herself to move them and it just felt good to have the ashes in the car."
The box was white with pink trim, with the words "You are loved" on it. Police are investigating.
