Outdoor dining is set to resume on Monday, but in at least one town, that’s not enough. Asbury Park officials have approved a plan to allow indoor dining next week, under Murphy’s guidelines for other businesses — 25% of capacity or less than 50 people, whichever is lower.

Murphy pleaded with those officials not to go through with that plan and vowed enforcement of his closure order, but didn’t get specific.

Officials announced 539 new positive coronavirus cases, bringing the state total to 165,816 cases. With 70 additional fatalies, the state has now reported 12,433 coronavirus-related deaths.
