The animal shelter launched a fundraising campaign aptly called Zoomies, where people can pay for a “puppy pop-in” for virtual calls with family, friends or a business meeting.
The cheapest package is $30, which includes a 15-minute puppy sesh for a max of 20 guests. For a 30-minute call, it’s $60 with a 20-person limit, or $200 for unlimited guests.
The Brandywine Valley SPCA hopes the fundraiser boosts spirits during the pandemic and raises awareness about animal adoptions.
Linda Torelli, spokesperson for the rescue, suggested some Zoomie-appropriate settings.
“A simple one is to just invite them into your corporate meeting, but people are also bringing them in for celebrations that they are doing online for birthdays or graduations. We also have some folks that are actually bringing in the puppies to help with online learning and reading sessions,” she said.
“Kitty cameos” will be added to the mix next.
