The film, “Walking While Black, L.O.V.E. is the Answer," takes a raw, hard look at the relationship between police and minority communities and perceptions from each side, along with a roadmap to try to improve relations.
Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub says with social media, views can be distorted.
“If we could have a real life discourse and a dialogue between individual police officers and our young people in Bucks County, that’s going to be a win-win for everyone," he said.
Weintraub expects more than 400 students will attend the screening and afterwards they'll break up into groups to talk about it.
"With a police officer who also viewed the film present with each group," he said.
The screening will be held at the Bensalem High School auditorium at 4 p.m. and is open the public.
It’s part of the seventh annual MLK Teen Peace and Justice Summit and is a partnership between the summit planning committee, the Police Chiefs' Association of Bucks County, the Bucks County District Attorney's office, and the Bensalem Police Department.
