CAMDEN, N.J. (KYW Newsradio) — A Camden charity is doing its best to continue to serve the homeless four months into the pandemic, but they could use some help of their own.

On a normal day, the Cathedral Kitchen would serve about 300 meals mostly to the homeless. Now it’s down about 10% in large part because while the kitchen still operates, the dining room is closed. CEO Carrie Kitchen-Santiago says they’ve gone the way other dining services have gone.

“We’re just trying to figure out, especially when it gets cold and rainy in the fall and winter, how we’re going to serve everyone as best we can with dignity, while also maintaining social distance,” Kitchen-Santiago added. “So that’s going to be the challenge we’re trying to work through.”

The bottom line: They can use cash, foodstuffs, time — whatever you can offer. Find information on their website, about how to assist right now.
