PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio)  With no Olympics to prepare for this summer, Carli Lloyd is enjoying more time at home with her husband, and also hoping this will be a time when everyone will realize what makes life so important.

“I do also hope that throughout this period that people really re-evaluate their life, what matters to them most. They’ve been getting a lot of time to be able to spend time with their families,” she said.

In addition to the Olympics postponement, Lloyd’s time with Sky Blue FC of the Women’s Professional Soccer League as well as her South Jersey clinics for young soccer stars are also on hold.

“This is all out of our control. This is something that no one has experienced, and the problem is nobody knows when things are going to go back to normal,” she said.

With the Tokyo Olympics postponed until 2021, Lloyd will have to wait at least one more year for what will likely be her last major soccer event.

“It’s just going to give me, individually, another year to prepare and another year to get better and just give it everything that I’ve got because it most likely will probably be it for me,” she said.
