US Census Bureau looking to hire thousands in Philly area

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — If you're looking for a job, recruiters in Philadelphia and it's surrounding counties are trying to fill thousands of temporary positions for the 2020 census count, and the pay could be enticing.

You could make up to $27 an hour in Montgomery County and $23-$28 in Philadelphia if you fill one of those positions. Jennifer Braxton with the U.S. Census Bureau says they're hoping that increase in pay will encourage people to come out and apply on Thursday.

"There's no resume required, no letters of recommendation. You do not have to have any types of formalized special training. We will offer paid training. So it is a great way to earn a little extra money while also helping your community," she said.
