Authorities have recovered two bodies of people killed in the explosion and fire on Thursday.
One of the victim's bodies was pulled from the debris Friday afternoon, and the second on Saturday, according to officials. It is still unknown if there are other victims.
Federal, state and local agencies are still looking for the cause of the explosion. There is no timeline yet for the street to reopen or when displaced residents can return.
Barbara Farley lives just blocks away from where the explosion and fire happened. "It's not something that's going to go away anytime soon," she said, "so it's visible and it's a reminder really everyday for those of us in the neighborhood that are nearby."
Officials say at least a dozen rowhomes were damaged in the blast. Three were destroyed and two are on the verge of collapse.
Fortunately for residents, neighborhood businesses have stepped up and are offering gift cards for free meals to those affected.
Mike's BBQ, at 11th and Morris streets, started the contagious act of kindness, and The Dutch and Redcrest Fried Chicken are also offering gift cards.
"Overnight we had over a thousand dollars worth of donations," said Mike's chef Fred Muser, "just for us for food to some people who come in and get gift cards."
He recommended going to the Passyunk Square Civic Association for information on how to help.
"The community just steps up like that," Muser marveled. "It's amazing."
