Montgomery County Commissioner Dr. Val Arkoosh said they know a lot of restaurant or bar owners invested a lot of time and money to reopen under the new restrictions.
“We have a process in place to quickly shut down restaurants after our inspectors observe a second incidence of noncompliance,” she said.
Delaware County also has a link to report restaurants that aren’t following rules on their county website.
“The majority of bars and restaurants are abiding by the guidance. It’s just a few of them that aren’t and that’s what’s putting us in jeopardy,” said Delaware County Councilwoman Monica Taylor.
The following are some of the guidelines restaurants and bars must follow: bar patrons must be seated, no one can be served while standing, a maximum of four people who have a common relationship can sit at the bar, customers have to wear masks when walking through the bar or restaurant but can take it off while seated, and employees are required to wear masks while working.
