Odunde has taken over the west side of South Street every second Sunday in June for the last 45 years.
CEO Oshunbumi Fernandez West says public safety and health are a top priority.
"Half a million people come to Odunde throughout the course of the day," she said. "With that type of volume, there's no way we can implement social distancing. And we want to make sure everyone is — from our vendors to our attendees to our performers."
This is the first time since its inception that Odunde has been cancelled. Fernandez West says they hope to bring it back next year.
