On day 3 of preparations, crews put down foundation for Flyers outdoor game at the Linc

Crews at Lincoln Financial Field are putting down the foundation for the Flyers' outdoor "Stadium Series" game against Pittsburgh on Feb. 23.

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — It doesn't look much like a hockey rink yet.

Crews at Lincoln Financial Field are putting down the foundation for the Flyers' outdoor "Stadium Series" game against Pittsburgh on Feb. 23.

On day three of the build, 200 workers were installing the aluminum freezer pans that will chill the ice surface.

The NHL's executive vice president for events, Dean Matsuzaki, says the dasher boards will be installed tomorrow. Over the next week, a fine mist of water will be sprayed onto the freezer pans to create a two-inch ice surface.
