PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Schools in Delaware are closed until at least May 18.

At his daily press briefing on Friday, Gov. John Carney said there's not enough information yet to decide whether to close schools for the rest of the year.

"We have regular communications with the superintendents, and they're eager for a decision there, and I know parents across our state as well," he said.

"I encourage schools to remain focused on remote learning and making sure our students are getting as much instruction as possible while the schools are actually not in physical session."

Delaware schools have been closed since March 13 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
