PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A driver was arrested Monday afternoon after crashing into several cars at Philadelphia International Airport and then driving the wrong way on I-95, causing even more chaos.

Pennsylvania State Police say 41-year-old Anthony Colabove had stopped his truck on a median at the airport, where cars aren't allowed to be. When an officer honked to get him to move, Colabove took off the wrong way on northbound I-95, hitting several more cars.

Colabove was speeding on the shoulder southbound when his truck collided with a car going north near the Route 420 interchange.

The second driver, 19-year-old Colin Miller, managed to swerve at the last second to avoid being hit head-on.

"The gentleman driving the black truck jumped out and began savagely attacking the police officer," she said. "We couldn't believe it. My husband immediately calls 911 and saying 'an officer's being attacked on I-95.'"

State police say Colabove was transported to Crozer Chester Medical Center with injuries. It appears he was under the influence of drugs during his rampage.

The incident caused I-95 northbound at Route 420 to close around 3:30 p.m. All traffic there was blocked for about a half-hour.

No other drivers were injured in any of the crashes he caused. Colabove will be arraigned on DUI and drug possession charges once he's released from the hospital.
