EAGLEVILLE, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — A 30-year-old Chester County woman is charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault, after police say they walked in on her stabbing her mother in the Downingtown apartment they share.

According to the criminal complaint, when Downingtown police responded to a call at the apartment on Highland Avenue on Sunday, Alexis Wilson answered the door while holding a large silver knife.

She put the knife down when ordered, and police took her into custody.

Charging documents say an officer went into the apartment and found Wilson’s mother on the floor, face down and surrounded by blood, with multiple stab wounds to her back.

Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan said the victim remains hospitalized.

According to the complaint, when questioned by detectives, Wilson allegedly said she hadn’t planned to stab her mother, but, “that’s the kinda … thing you do when you’re gonna … kill somebody.”
