The Dragons come into their conference slate 7-5.
"We definitely put together a schedule that challenged us," Drexel head coach Denise Dillon told KYW Newsradio. "You'd want a couple of those games back, but that's never the case. So you're hoping it prepared you for what you're about to see here in conference play."
The Dragons have played great defense this season, holding opponents to 57 points a game. They are also getting a tremendous campaign out of senior forward Bailey Greenberg. The Archbishop Wood product is averaging team bests of 20.9 points and 5.7 rebounds a game while shooting 47% from the field (43% from three).
"Bailey's doing a lot of everything for us," Dillon said. "I would say what she is doing the best is taking what the defense gives her. She's recognizing players trying to body her, she's finding the open spots. She's slowing down a little bit when she has the ball. If they're giving her the shot, she's willing to take it. She's just demanding the ball each and every possession, which is so important for us. And also, one thing I would say, she's doing a a great job of passing the ball. Knowing if she's doesn't have something, she's passing then looking for it back."
Drexel will face a Charleston team tonight that is 7-4 and looking for a third straight win.
"They're fast," Dillon said. "They want to get the ball down in transition. They want to score early in the shot clock and often. They rebound the ball well."
Drexel and Charleston will tip off at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
