If the funding plan stands, the trip from end to end will increase from $3.75 to $5.50 for most drivers.
Officials with the South Jersey Transportation Authority (SJTA) say the money is needed for major projects like repaving and lighting. They say it’s important this is done to keep thousands of men and women at work and for sustained economic development.
Anyone with internet access or a smartphone will be able to tune into the hearings live Wednesday and Thursday at sjta.com.
