PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A Philadelphia Police Officer was hurt on the job in a car crash in the Northeast Philadelphia neighborhood of Mayfair early Monday morning.

Police are now hoping surveillance footage from the intersection of Robbins Street and Brous Avenue sheds light on what exactly happened.

Around 4 a.m., Police say an officer was going east on Robbins responding to a call, when she and the driver of a red Mazda collided.

In a chain reaction, the cop car then slammed into a car parked at the corner, which then hit the van parked in front of it.

Raul Feliciano owns the car the police cruiser hit. He woke up and couldn't believe what happened -- or the odds -- since the car wasn't in its normal spot.

"We couldn't fit where we park at, so we decided to park here, and lo and behold, bad karma, I guess. Bad luck," he said.

It was frustrating, but he says he's grateful no one was hurt too badly. Investigators say the cop was taken to the hospital, where she is expected to recover, while the other driver is a little banged up and expexted to be okay, too.
