PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — It was a perfect night for a ballgame at Citizens Bank Park Friday — softball, not baseball — but a different team took the field in the name of charity.
Some Eagles players took part in a home run derby, then it was offense versus defense, all for Carson Wentz's AO1 Foundation charity softball game.

Matt Mroz was one of many fans who showed up wearing their Eagles green.

"Carson Wentz always puts on a great show," he said. "He’s doing this for a great reason, a great fundraiser. It’s great to see the team get together.

"It’s awesome when you see the teams come together, playing on different stadiums," he continued. "It’s great."

The players were definitely having fun taking swings, but Al Cybart noticed not every player connected.

"The should stick to their Sunday jobs," he joked.

But it’s all about having fun.

"It’s all about fun, it’s all about raising money for a great cause," Cybart said. "Carson is wonderful in the community. We're going to back him the matter what he does."

Wentz didn’t play but coached the offense during Friday's match. He signed plenty of autographs for fans before the game.
