PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Flyers dropped Game 1 of their second-round playoff series to the New York Islanders 4-0. Many of their top players still haven't scored this postseason.

One of those guys is Captain Claude Giroux, who has tallied only one goal in his last 23 postseason games, dating back to 2014.

One of those went past goalie Carter Hart. If not for Hart, the game would have been out of reach early, but the Flyers had their chances until the score got away from them in the third period.

"Our first period lost us the game I think," Giroux said.

Alain Vigneault's squad has scored only 11 goals across their last 7 games.

"We got a few players right now that, in my estimation, can play a lot better with the puck. We'll address it and respond for the next game," Vigneault said.

"Willingness is there. Execution is just a little off tonight."

The Flyers have yet to beat the Islanders this season. They are 0-4 against the New York team. However, they haven't lost consecutive games since Jan. 7.

"We haven’t lost two in a row for a while, so we don’t plan on losing the next one," Giroux said.

Game 2 is Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m.
