PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Flyers teamed up with a local catering company for a special Mother's Day weekend gift to front line workers.

The team wanted to do something special for Mother's Day weekend. Brûlée Catering President Jack O'Brien said his company got together with the Flyers to deliver five-star meals to hospital workers at the University of Pennsylvania on Friday.

"We're delivering what we call the five-star meals to front line moms, and that's to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in recognition of the working moms for Mother’s Day."

The two organizations also teamed up for two other events, which included a "Taco Tuesday" on Cinco De Mayo to police precincts and fire houses in the city.

"The Flyers are working hand in hand with us with people who are helping on the deliveries, people who are on site when we are delivering, as well as this is tying in with some of the players.”

The meals delivered on Friday were brought home by the Penn workers to have the chance for them to enjoy them as a Mother's Day meal with their families.

"This is just a really small gesture to show all the front line employees, the moms, the police, everyone we've worked with over the past week just how much everyone truly appreciates their work and dedication," said O'Brien.
